There are regular public buses from and to Heraklion (6 Km away, about 40 minutes by bus), operating from early in the morning (06:40) till late in the evening (23:40) on a 15'-20' minute basis (including weekends).
Amoudara is the perfect starting point to Crete’s lively and interesting capital.
Bus tickets (one-way tickets, e.g. Amoudara-Heraklion) are sold in the mini markets of Amoudara (1.7€) and in the bus (2.5€).
Daily bus tickets (5€) are sold in the bus. The daily ticket can be used for different routes throughout the same day (e.g. Amoudara to Knossos, Knossos to Heraklion, Heraklion to Amoudara).
Morosini Fountain: (The so called Lion's fountain). One of the most known fountains of Heraklion, point of reference for its inhabitants, but also for the visitors. Today it is one of the most beautiful monuments of the city.
